THE SUNSHINE SOCIETY
I'll never forget the tiny clay heart placed in my teacher mailbox the week after my first miscarriage. Nor will I forget the simple "I love you" post-it I found on my desk at the library when I was an insecure and single college freshman. I remember discovering PostSecret in high school and feeling totally transformed by the concept and resonance of emotional connections among strangers within the universe. You know...that whole invisible thread thing.
Our worlds are filled with seasons. Some are warm and full of growth, Some are for planting seeds. Some are for transitions. And some are dark and cold. Not every day is going to be sunny and I don't think it should be a requirement to be or try to feel "happy" all the time. But creating random notes for strangers (or are they subconscious love notes to ourselves?) has brought me inner warmth, even in the coldest of seasons. Maybe it will have a similar effect on whoever finds them.
